Rheology Laboratory

This laboratory carries out rheological characterization of complex fluids, experiments involving non-Newtonian fluids and microscopy to evaluate the microstructure of materials. It has the capacity to carry out practically all types of shear rheological tests in the -50°C to 600°C range, at ambient pressure and high pressure. In addition to the most varied geometries and other accessories for rotational rheometers, microscopy, light scattering, pressure cells and geometries for measuring interfacial rheology are available. The laboratory also has other equipment, including an extensional rheometer and a scanning electron microscope with a CRYO sample preparation system.
