DEM – Department of Mechanical Engineering – The Mechanical Engineering Department is committed to excellence in education since its inception in 1948, always being rated as one of the best in the country. At the same time, the graduate program maintains high-quality teaching and research since its creation in 1964, with a significant presence in the national and international scientific community, resulting in the maximum score obtained in CAPES evaluation, grade 7. The developed research areas cover fundamental and applied problems, which are the result of strong interaction with industry.
